Position: Head of Technologies, Industrial Decarbonisation – Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (UK)

Based in London at the UK Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Enrique is Head of Technologies in the Industrial Decarbonisation Strategy team. His main focus is helping to set the government’s vision for a prosperous low carbon UK industrial sector by 2050 looking at the role of different technologies and measures in achieving this, including using hydrogen, electrification, biomass and carbon capture, as well as improving energy efficiency and resource efficiency. Before joining BEIS in July of 2020 Enrique worked in the Oil and Gas Sector Team at the UK Department for International Trade also based in London where he supported UK exporters across High Value markets in the Americas and Africa. His countries of focus were Mexico, Brazil, Senegal, Mauritania, Nigeria, Mozambique, Uganda and Tanzania but he also covered secondary markets in both regions.

Before moving to the UK Enrique worked at the British Embassy in Mexico City as Head of the Energy and Environment team covering the Oil and Gas, Renewables, Nuclear and Power Sectors. He studied Business Administration in Mexico and Norway
